Special Arrangements Under Inclement Weather Conditions


Special arrangement of the Companies Registry when the Hong Kong Observatory issues Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above or the Black Rainstorm Warning Signal:

  • All offices will be closed.

  • Removed or lowered two hours or more before the end of office hours

  • Public services will be resumed within two hours after the signal is removed or lowered. (Note 1)

  • Removed or lowered in less than two hours before the end of office hours
  • All offices will remain closed.
Black Rainstorm Warning Signal (Note 2)
  • Issued before office hours

  • All offices will be closed.

  • Cancelled or replaced by a lower level alert two hours or more before the end of office hours

  • Public services will be resumed within two hours after the warning is cancelled or replaced by a lower level alert.

  • Cancelled or replaced by a lower level alert in less than two hours before the end of office hours
  • All offices will remain closed.


Note 1: In the event that the Government has announced to the public that, due to certain extreme conditions, employees should be advised to stay in their places or safe locations for another two hours (or longer if extended) (“extreme condition”) after the No. 8 Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal has been lowered, public services will be resumed within two hours after the “extreme condition” is cancelled.

Note 2: If the black rainstorm warning signal is issued during office hours, all offices will remain opened.
