In October 2014, Cathay Asia Capital Group Limited (CR No. : 1426518) ("the Company") was prosecuted by the Companies Registry and convicted at the Eastern Magistrates’ Courts of an offence under section 153(1) of the predecessor Companies Ordinance (i.e. the Companies Ordinance (Cap.32) as in force before the commencement of the Companies Ordinance, Cap. 622), for the failure of the Company to have at least 2 directors during the period when it was a public company. The default period was calculated from 24 September 2010 to 18 February 2014 being a total of 1030 days. The Company was convicted and fined $22,600.
