GENERAL MANAGER'S MESSAGE

It is my privilege to share the Annual Report of the Companies Registry ("the Registry") for the year 2025-26. As at 31 March 2026, the number of local companies and re-domiciled companies on the Companies Register reached an all-time peak of 1,584,413, marking the third consecutive year in which the Registry attained a new high. This sustained growth underscores Hong Kong's competitiveness and attractiveness in starting a business and reinforces Hong Kong's position as a world-class place to do business. Looking ahead, we will continue to enhance our services to provide a more seamless and responsive service experience, while exploring the practical application of artificial intelligence in our business operations.

DRIVING CHANGE FOR
A BRIGHTER FUTURE

The Registry has assisted the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau in taking forward legislative amendments to the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622). We have consistently attached great importance to enhancing the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622) in an effort to strengthen Hong Kong's position as a global business and financial hub and meet the changing needs of companies and the community, while fulfilling our international responsibility in fighting against money laundering and terrorist financing.

We firmly believe that the integration of cutting-edge technology into our services, together with the introduction of new initiatives, will be instrumental in driving change for a brighter future.
