e-Submission of Documents under Miscellaneous Ordinances


The Companies Registry accepts electronic submission of documents or applications under the ordinances as set out in the 'List of Ordinances'. Such electronic documents can be delivered to the Registry through the following means :-

(i) Deliver through the e-Registry; or

(ii) Deliver through GovHK; or

(iii) Send email to crmail@cr.gov.hk; or

(iv) Deliver the relevant CD-ROM or DVD-ROM in person or by post to 14th floor, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong.


Format of Electronic Document and Signature Requirement 


(i) For delivery through the e-Registry

A document to be delivered through the e-Registry shall be delivered in a format using the electronic template provided at the e-Registry. Other documents to be delivered as an attachment to the document shall be delivered in PDF not exceeding the file size specified by the e-Registry.

A document to be delivered in electronic form to the Registrar of Companies shall be authenticated, approved or certified electronically by such person(s) as specified by the electronic template provided at the e-Registry. For the purpose of authenticating, approving or certifying the document, a person must register with the e-Registry and his/her digital signature or password shall be affixed to or included in the document

(ii) For delivery through GovHK

A document to be delivered through GovHK shall be delivered in a format using the electronic template or the template in Adobe Portable Document Format (“PDF”) provided at GovHK. Other documents to be delivered as an attachment to the document shall be delivered in PDF not exceeding the file size specified by GovHK.

A document to be delivered in electronic form to the Registrar of Companies shall be authenticated, approved or certified electronically by such person(s) as specified by the electronic template or the template in PDF provided at GovHK.

(iii) For sending by email or delivery of CD-ROM or DVD-ROM

The manner and format for submitting information in the form of electronic record should comply with the requirements specified in the Gazette under section 11(2) of the Electronic Transactions Ordinance (Chapter 553).


Notes:

Applications for company incorporation and specified forms, including annual returns, and documents which are required to be delivered together with the specified forms under the Companies Ordinance (Chapter 622) and the Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance (Chapter 32), can be submitted in electronic form through the e-Registry. Please refer to the 'Electronic Services at the e-Registry' section of this website and 'Requirements for Documents Delivered in Electronic Form to the Registrar of Companies for Registration' for details.
